Getting a windshield chip repair quote: what to include

A useful repair quote starts with information about your vehicle, the damage, and where you need service. Here is how to request pricing from Desert Shield Auto without guessing which details matter.

Show all of the damage you want assessed

Send one close-up of each chip and a wider view of the windshield. Mention whether you have noticed one damaged spot or several. If you previously had work done on the same spot, include that in your message.

The goal is to make the scope of your request clear. A quote for one visible chip may not describe the work needed for additional damage that has not yet been discussed.

Add vehicle and location details

Include the year, make, and model of your vehicle, plus your city. For mobile service in Victorville, Apple Valley, Hesperia, or a nearby community, tell us whether you prefer a home or workplace visit.

If you need a particular day or time window, mention it as a preference. Wait for availability to be confirmed before treating that window as a booking.

Ask what the quoted amount includes

Before agreeing to service, ask whether the quote covers all the damage you sent and whether there are any additional charges for your requested location or circumstances. This is a question to clarify your quote, not a statement that an extra fee applies.

Ask how pricing would be handled if the in-person inspection identifies something the photos did not show. Confirm the payment arrangements and the total before authorizing work.

Use a simple message to get started

Try: “Hi Desert Shield Auto, I have attached a close-up and a wider photo. My vehicle is a [year/make/model], and I am in [city]. There are [number] damaged spots. What would repair cost, and what appointments are available?”

We reply with guidance, pricing, and availability based on your request. Final repair suitability depends on inspection. If you still have questions, call 760-209-6939 before confirming your visit.
